Hotel Horizon - Hotel & Restaurant

Wonderful room, fabulous dinner. I stayed in a king room with bathtub. After a long hike I was happy to have a large tub to soak in. I chose the hotel because it is 5 minutes down the street from a significant hiking area with dozens of trails. Will come back for snowshoeing in the winter. Dinner at the restaurant could not have been better. It included a noteworthy Caesar salad with 4-5 whole slices of freshly cooked bacon (still warm), and fresh melt-in-your-mouth heirloom tomatoes. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Very quiet room. Keurig in room including decaf coffee and hot chocolate pods. I was in heaven.

The room was nice! Very nice decor but the issue was the room was extremely damp inside, I suffer from asthma and it just triggered it walking down the hallway due to how damp the air was, and the ac just made it feel like a refrigerator in there, extremely damp and cold. My other issue was was the cleanliness of the room, the bed was clean but the bathroom wasn’t! There was black mould in the grout between the floor tiles of the shower, the floor of the shower was slimy and slippery. I quivered when I stepped into there feeling like it had not had a proper clean in some time. I’m not a neat freak nor do I have extremely high standards but some fantastik with bleach and a scrub brush would go a long way in that shower, just didn’t feel very clean. I also booked for 3 nights and only stayed for 2 but I wasn’t refunded for the final night I hadn’t stayed there, as this is part of their policy, so keep that in mind when staying there. Overall it’s a nice place and a nice location, but the things mentioned will make me think twice about going back.
